I just wanted to thank you again for helping me take my Scimitar Oryx and Axis Buck this past year. They were both exciting hunts. It was a great follow up to the previous years hunt when I took a beautiful Black Buck and a really nice Sika Buck. I will be coming back this year for the 3rd time to take a Chocolate Fallow Buck and an Aoudad. Obviously you do the right thing or I wouldn’t be coming back for the 3rd time. I’m sure there will be a 4th and 5th etc. trips back to the hill country in west Texas. Your professionalism and determination to please your client, so they can be successful, is why I will be coming back year after year. Hunting on 3000 – 5000 acre free ranging ranches makes for a very challenging hunt. I’m Looking forward to seeing you in September. Update Phil is booked for his 4th trip in 2008. He was able to take a nice fallow and an aoudad on his 3rd trip.

Our party of four booked a hunt with the Pope Brothers during early August of 2007. We purposely booked for four days because we knew an unusually rainy season would cause the hunt to be more difficult. The lodging and food were excellent and we couldn't have asked for a better hunt. We were expecting better than average animals and Clay, Marcus, Paul made sure we weren't disappointed. This was my second trip to Texas and these guides were, by far, the best choice for an enjoyable and satisfying hunt. My experience with PBGSO is one that my daughter and I will remember for a long time. From meeting you at the license location to saying goodbye was a thrill. The food and accommodations was every bit as good as other places I've been to. The numbers and different kinds of animals to choose from makes it hard to make up your mind which one to take. With my daughter blind hunting and me using safari style was a lot of fun. The guides were superb helping us get the animal we wanted to harvest. This is the third year I’ve hunted along with my good friend, Joe, with Pope Brothers Guide Service and Outfitting. We found them online and after calling a reference or two and talking to Clay, we decided to book a four day Hill Country Whitetail Hunt. It was great!! We both took excellent whitetail bucks and does on that first trip. I took a large feral hog as a bonus. Year two had us hunting near Blanco and again we took bucks and the does we wanted. That year the hunting across Texas was tough due to a lack of rain throughout the summer. Clay put us on deer even when the conditions were as bad as they can get. This year we were back and again did great with good bucks and being overrun with deer. We decided to hunt axis deer does at a ranch near Blanco and I took a very good one. The next weekend I was back hunting with my son and 10 year old grandson who was hunting his first buck. Clay had scouted the area and put us in the right spot. He took a very nice 8 pt late that evening. He was so excited, but maybe not as much as his Dad and I. I have been so impressed with Pope Brother’s ability to put us on deer and his use of a network of ranches. He has places to hunt just about anything that’s available in Texas and at whatever trophy level you may desire. We’ve booked our whitetail hunt for next year already and I hope to bring back my sons and grandson later. Joe is considering hunting pronghorn antelope with Clay in October and I’m planning an axis buck hunt in mid summer. I recommend that you give Pope Brothers Guide Service and Outfitting a very serous consideration when planning a hunt in Texas. You won’t go wrong. I believe that you find you’ll get an excellent hunt at a reasonable price.
